"Consolations" Six Penseés poétiques ( Six poetic thoughts ) is a collection of piano works composed by Liszt between 1849 and 1850.

Liszt composed this at a time when he began a love affair with the artistically knowledgeable Princess Carolyne Wittgenstein. This work is dedicated to Maria Pavlovna (sister of Russian Emperor Alexander I), the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, who is said to have supported the relationship between Liszt and Princess Carolyne Wittgenstein.
