Testimonial

"I started learning with Akiko when I was eight and I’ve been learning with her for 3 ½ years. In the course of that time I feel like I have grown a lot and now have a much better overall understanding of the piano and really improved my technical skills. I like how she is always very patient and kind, and helps me work through problems. I get to work on fun songs that challenge my skills, and learn about their styles and composers, different techniques and how to express myself through the music. At the end of the lesson I have always learned something new."

About Ms. Akiko's teaching style

”Piano, I’ve realized, has to do with both playing the right notes and understanding emotion. When I first started playing the piano I just read the notes of the sheet music without stopping to think about what the piece was actually about, what the composer was trying to convey through the music. Ms.Akiko was the first teacher that ever asked me, “What do you see when you're playing this piece?”. She taught me how to convey my emotions into a piece, and how to truly connect with it. ”   - K.  "Ms. Akiko  has been teaching piano to our son Pranav since we moved to MA 5 years ago . Pranav has grown so much in his piano learning and has grown to enjoy his music thanks to Ms. Akiko ‘s piano acumen, dedication and experience. Ms . Akiko’s unique teaching style , her able direction to her students teaching  both the breadth and depth of piano learning is invaluable.

Pranav has learned through his musical journey with Ms. Akiko the importance of being thorough , methodical , be nuanced, enjoy the learning process and apply these same qualities to his academics and day to interactions with others .

We hope that Pranav will continue his musical  journey with the able guidance of a wonderful teacher like Ms. Akiko for a long time to come .  He is very very lucky to learn and grow under her guidance."     - V.P & P.V
